Honey
We have been busy little bees!
Bees have always been an interest for Juanita since she was a little girl and her grandfather had an apiary (the name for the place where bee hives are kept). He would give pieces of honeycomb to the kids to chew on like gum (perhaps to keep them quiet?). {pic of grampa Frank}
After many years and feeling nostalgic, she decided to get her own hive to be able to watch the bees. So she left it up to her son (yours truly) to set up a hive as “her” hobby. How many of my weekly chores have started with her saying ‘just take a minute and do this for me”? But I digress…
So not being one to be able to do the minimum, off ‘we’ go setting up 3 hives and ordering 3 packages of bees. In case you didn’t know, bees are purchased in 3 pounds packages of worker bees and a queen for them. {bee package pic}
After some trial and error and a few location adjustments we are now up to 8 hives and the honey is flowing by the pounds. So much so that we have begun selling our Raw Wildflower honey to locals and at area craft shows and events. The response has been overwhelming and everyone loves our golden honey. human hair wigs

Now that we have exposure to the competition side of things and know what to expect, in 2018 we are looking for a BLUE ribbon and Best In Show…
